COLMAR
The oldest of the towns of Alsace
Colmar was Gallo-Roman before
becoming imperial city at the XIII th century, principal city of Décapole then
seat of the sovereign Council of Alsace under Louis XIV. The capital of the Alsatian
vineyard has escaped with the destruction of the wars and offers an exceptional
urban architectural unit, witness of its last rich person. Splendid worked
residences point out the opulence of the “Renaissance”.
